A rectangular plot of land measures 45m x 30m. A boundary wall of height 2.4 m is built all around the plot at a distance of 1 m from the plot. Find the area of the inner surface of the boundary wall.

Here is the answer to your question.
Length of the rectangular plot = 45 m
Breadth of the rectangular plot = 30 m
When a boundary wall is built at a distance of 1 m from the plot,
Length of the inner boundary, l = 45 m + 1 m = 46 m
Breadth of the inner boundary, b = 30 m + 1 m = 31 m
Height of the boundary wall, h = 2.4 (Given)
Area of the inner surface of the boundary wall
= 2h (l + b)
= 2 × 2.4 m × (46 m + 31 m)
= 2 × 2.4 m × 77 m
= 369.6 m2
∴ The area of the inner surface of the boundary wall is 369.6 m2.
