Solution

The length and breadth of the room are in the ratio 7:4.
So, suppose length and breadth of the room are 7x and 4x respectively.
Height of room = 3.4 m
We know that area of four walls of room = 2h(l + b)
And given area of four walls of room = 224.4 m2
So, the area of four walls of room is given by;
2×3.47x+4x = 224.4 6.8×11x = 224.474.8x = 224.4x = 224.474.8 = 3
So, length of room = 7×3 = 21 m
And breadth of room = 4×3 = 12 m
