Solution

Answer :

We know from the statement given in question

There are all sparrows but six " means " that six birds are not sparrows but only pigeons and ducks .

So,

Total number of pigeons + Total number of ducks = 6 ------------- ( 1 )

And

There are all pigeons but six " means " that six birds are not pigeons but only sparrows and ducks .

So,

Total number of sparrows + Total number of ducks = 6 ------------- ( 2 )

And

There are all ducks but six " means " that six birds are not ducks but only sparrows and pigeons .

So,

Total number of sparrows + Total number of pigeons = 6 ------------- ( 3 )

Now we add equation 1 , 2 and 3 , and get

2 ( Total number of sparrows + Total number of pigeons + Total number of ducks ) = 18

So,

Total number of sparrows + Total number of pigeons + Total number of ducks = 9 ,

So there 9 birds in his bag .
