A SONAR device on a submarine sends out a signal and receives its echoe 3s later.If the speed of sound waves in sea water is 1530ms-1.Find the depth of the seabed below the submarine

Let the depth be d.
velocity of sound in water, v = 1530 m/s
Time taken in travelling 2d distance = 3 s
∵ Distance = velocity × time
2d = vt
2d = 1530×3
∴ d = 4590/2 = 2295 m
