Question

A sound wave travels at a speed of 33om/s. If its wavelength is1.5cm, calculate the frequency of sound wave?

Open in App
Solution

V = νλ ...(i)

V is the speed of the wave.

ν is the frequency of the wave.

λ is the wave length of the wave.

V = 330 m/s

λ = 1.5 cm = (1.5/100) m

Putting the value in equation (i) we get,

ν = V/λ = (330 x 100)/1.5 = 22000 Hz or 22 kHz
