Open in App
Solution

Given : Side of the square = 40 m = 4 dam

⇒ Perimeter of Square = 4 × 40 m = 160 m or 4 × 4 dam = 16 dam

Length of rectangle = 5 dam = 50 m

⇒ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(5 dam + Breadth)

According to the question

2(5 dam + Breadth) = 16 dam

⇒ 5 dam + Breadth = 16/2 = 8 dam

⇒ Breadth = 8 dam - 5 dam = 3 dam = 30 m

Hence, Area of rectangle = 50 m × 30 m = 1500 m2 or 5 dam × 3 dam = 15 dam2
