For a relaxed eye $L=f_0+f_e$ where f₀ = focal length of objective lens and f_e is the focal length of eye pieces.
for a least distance of distinct vision $$\begin{gathered} L\text{'}=f{\text{'}}_0+f{\text{'}}_e \\ thereforef{\text{'}}_e<f_e \end{gathered}$$
Hence L' < L therefore the distance will be decreased.
