Solution

Answer :

Let total birds sitting on first tree = x
And
Total birds sitting on second tree = 55- x

As given " total of 55 birds were sitting on two trees. "

And from second condition " 9 birds flew away from the first tree and 6 birds flew from the 2nd tree. After that, the number of birds on the two trees became the same. " we get

x - 9 = 55- x - 6

x - 9 = 49 - x

2x = 58

x = 29 ,

So,

There were 29 birds sitting on first tree in the beginning . ( Ans )
