Question

Acceptor or rejector LCR circuit?

Open in App
Solution

ACCEPTOR LCR Circuit: A series LCR circuit at resonance is called acceptor circuit. This is so because the series resonant circuit has the lowest possible impedance at resonance frequency, thus allowing the AC current to circulate through it ,i.e., it accepts the flow of current throug it.

REJECTOR LCR Circuit : A parallel LCR circuit at resonance is called rejector circuit, because at resonance such a circuit does not allows current or allows only the minimum amount of current of the desired frequency to pass through it ,i.e., it rejects current.
