Solution

According to VBT, two atomic orbitals overlap and form molecular orbitals in which electrons lie. According to MOT, molecular orbitals are formed by the linear combination of atomic orbitals and electrons lie in these new orbitals.

Both theories explains that electron lies in newly formed molecular orbitals, which are formed by the combination of atomic orbitals.
