1. Graafian follicle degenerates to form a temporary endocrine gland known as corpus luteum.
2. It produces 3 hormones- progesterone (requires to maintain the pregnancy), estradiol (regulation of menstrual cycle) and inhibin (inhibits follicle stimulating hormone secretion).
