Question

alkaline earth metals reactivity increased on moving down the group.give reason.

Solution

As we go down a group the valence electrons become farther and farther away from the nucleus and it becomes easier to remove the outermost electron as a result of decreased electrostatic attraction between the nucleus and outermost electron. As a result of this the reactivity increases as we go down a group in the case of alkaline earth metals.
