An Apple and the Earth attract each other with an equal and opposite force. Why then we only see the apple falling toards the Earth but not the Earth rising towards the apple?

You must have read that F = ma.

If you increase the value of m , the value of a will decrease for the same F.

So, as the mass of earth is very, very large, the value of the acceleration of the earth due to the force is negligible.
