An object is kept at a distance of 80 cm in front of a plane mirror M. If the mirror is now moved 25 cm away from the object, How does the image shift from its preveous position?
Hi,
We know that in a plane mirror object distance = image distance
initially object distance = 80 cm
then if object is moved 25cm away total object distance becomes = (80 + 25 ) cm = 105 cm
Then the image will be at 105 cm from the mirror too
Change in position = final position - initial position = (105 - 80)cm = 25 cm.
Thus image changes by 25 cm
