Question

an object thrown at a certain angle to the ground moves in a curved path and falls back to the ground .the inital and final point

of the path of the object lie on the same horizontal line . wht is the total workdone against d force of gravity and by d force of gravity on the object? explain with mathematical expression

Solution

We know that, the force of gravity=mg(vertically downward)

Displacement of the object is in horizontal direction.

We see angle between the force and displacement is 90 degree.

Therefore the work done by gravity on projectile,W=Fscos 90=0
