Solution

Hi,

1 acre = 40 perches by 4 perhes

1 rood = 40 perches by 1 perch

1 perch = 16.5 feet

Now,

1 acre = 40 perches by 4 perches

=> 1 acre = 660 feet by 66 feet = 43560 feet2

=> 3 acres = 130680 feet2

25 perches by 4 perches = 412.5 feet by 66 feet = 27225 feet2

So, the total area in feet2 is (130680+27225) feet2 = 157905 feet2

1 rood = 40 perches by 1 perch

=> 1 rood = 660 feet by 16.5 feet = 10890 feet2

Since, 10890 feet2 = 1 rood

=> 157905 feet2 = 14.5 roods

Therefore,

(a) (a) Total area in the old units of roods is 14.5 roods

(b) (b) 1 feet2 = 0.0929 m2

Total area is 157905 feet2 which when converted to m2 becomes 14669.85 m2
