Are lymphocytes phagocytic in nature?

Open in App
Solution

No, lymphocytes are not phagocytic cells. They do not engulf other cells which is the function of phagocytes. Their one type called B lymphoctes provide humoral immunity by producing antibodies while other type called T cells provide cell mediated immunity by producing toxins and activating phagocytes.
