Arun in hindi means ‘sun’ and Achal means ‘to rise’. Since Arunachal is an eastern most state of India therefore sun rises earliest there than the other part of country. Thus Arunachal is called a place of rising sun. Therefore we can say that Arunachal Pradesh is a befitting name for our eastern most state.
