Question

At what temperature centigrade will the volume of gas at 0degree dobule itself pressure remaning constant

Open in App
Solution

Charle's Law: Pressure remaining constant, the volume of a given mass of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature in degree kelvin.
The relation V α T implies that
V/T = constant at constant temperature
so , V1T1= V2T2 at constant pressure
Thus, given
Let V1= V1
then, V2= 2V1
T1= 0oC = 273 K
T2 = ?
V1273= 2V1T2T2 = 2×273 = 546 K
T2 = 546 K - 273
T2 = 273 oC
