The Poona Pact was signed between Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.

Two points of agreement of this Pact were:

1.The depressed classes will be alloted 148 seats in the Provincial Legislature. It was more than double of the 71 seats promised in the Communal Award.
2.Certain percentage of seats alloted to the general Non-Muslim electorate will be reserved for the depressed classes.
