Question

In solids, the molecules will have less inter molecular space,so it is less compresseble.Molecules in gaseous state has less inter molecular space between them so it is easy to compress. When gas is compressed it's moleculs will lose its inter molecular space.then what will be it's state?

Solution

In gaseous state molecules are spaced much more apart than in a solid or liquid. When pressure is applied the molecules come closer to each other, this results in a change of state from gaseous to liquid and eventually to solid.
