Question

Buoyant force exerted by the fluid is less than the weight of the body?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student!

The buoyant force depends on the density of the fluid and the volume of the object being immersed in that fluid.

The weight of the body depends on the density of the object as well as the volume of the object.

So, it depends on the density of the object compared to the density of the fluid that whether the upward buoyant force will be more or the downward weight.
