1. With the advent of print a new visual culture also developed.

2. Paintings of artists like Ravi Verma were largely circulated.

3. Cheap prints, calendars were printed which was largely purchased by the poor to decorate their walls.

4. Later, caricatures, cartoons were published in newspapers.

5. Cartoons making a mockery of the imperial rule as well of those Indians who imitated western style of culture were printed in newspapers all this developed a sense of nationalism and brought the people of the country together by popularizing common ideas.

6. Visual print also catered to the illiterate audience who could not read or write, it was easy for them to comprehend pictures.
