Question

calculate the no. of moles in 4g of carbon dioxide.

Open in App
Solution

Molar mass is defined as the mass of one mole (or 6.023 X 1023 particles) of the substance. The molar mass of CO2 is 44g. Thus

44g of CO2 = 1 mole of CO2

1g of CO2 = ( 1 / 44) moles of CO2

4g of CO2 = (4 / 44) moles of CO2

= 0.091 moles of CO2.
