Question

Calculate the number of molecules of phosphorous (p4) present in 248g of solid phosphorous. ( given atomic mass of phosphorous=31.0u No=6.022x1023 per mole )

Open in App
Solution

248 gm of solid phosphorus = 248/31 = 8 moles

1 mole of phosphorus = 6.022x1023 molecules

8 mole of phosphorus = 8 x 6.022x1023

= 48.176 x 1023 molecules
