Question

calculate the number of moles of molecules and neutron in 49 gm of h2so4

Open in App
Solution

Given mass of H2SO4 = 49 g
Molar mass of H2SO4 = 98 g
Number of moles = Given massMolar mass

Number of moles = 4998 = 0.5 moles
In , H2SO4 , hydrogen has no neutrons, 1 atom of oxygen have 8 neutrons (here 4 oxygen atoms are there,so 8×4=32 neutrons) ,1 atom of sulphur has 16 neutrons, so total number of neutrons = 32 + 16 =48
