Camphor burns with a flame. Charcoal does not. Why?

Solution

Only those solid and liquid substances which vaporise on heating burn with a flame. Charcoal does not release any gases of vaporisation to burn, it simply glows just. Camphor releases Hydrocarbon gases that will burn and produce flame.
