Question

can solubility increase with the decrease in temperature?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student!

According to Henry's law, the solubility of a gas depends on temperature, and partial pressure of the gas over the liquid.

We know that, when temperature increases , the partial pressure decreases as the molecules start to move faster around and their occurs more randomness. So, they could not feel as force as earlier to dissolve in the liquid and so their solubility decreases with increase in temperature.
