Solution

Chipko andolan is a movement started in the early 1970s in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand where people were used to hug the trees to protect them from being felled. This step had created a strong bonding between the people and forest and also realize them that how impotant the forests are for the survival of biodiversity. That is why this movement was considered as a important step to end the thinking that forests are not important and separate from the people.
