coal is drived from bark of trees and is considered non renewable source of energy wheras wood is also obtained from bark of trees hence considered renewable source of energy.why?

Coal is a fossil fuel and takes millions of years to form and therefore is a non renewable source of energy. However wood can be obtained by planting tress in about 5-10 years and therefore it is a renewable source of energy.
