coal,petroleum,etc are non-living,then why they are called living resources?

Natural resources are classified as renewable and non renewable resource.
Natural resources are considered renewable if they can be replenished within a certain time period like trees, wild animals etc.
Non renewable resources are those which take millions of year to regenerate like coal, petroleum.
