Question

Crystalline solids Have long-range order in the arrangement of constituent particles/ What does long range order mean?

Open in App
Solution

In the crystalline solids, the atoms follow a translational periodicity in the positions of atom because the basic unit or atom of the solid contain the identical surrounding units and so the spacing and dimension is same between them and the position of an atom is repeated in space in a regular array.

Thus, the crystalline solids are said to have long-order of arrangement of constituent particles.
