Evolution is the cumulative changes that occur in a population over time. It is the result of change in the genetic make up of the organism due to mutations and other sources of variation. The favourable mutations are accepted by nature and provide the organism an adaptive advantage. Evolution ultimately result into speciation.

MICRO EVOLUTION:-These are small level changes which takes place in short period of time with in species level resulting in the production of new sub species. For eg:- some pests have become resistant to pesticides, mosquitoes evolving resistance to DDT.
