Open in App
Solution

Folding-When compressive horizontal movement caused by endogentic forces(force originating from deep within the earth) work face to face, wave like bends are formed in the crustal rocks.Such bends are called folding.

Faulting-Fault is a fracture in the crustal rocks when displacement of rocks take place due to tensional movement caused by endogenetic forces along a plane.

Tethys- Pangaea, the single giant land mass was broken into two blocks namely Angaraland in the north and Gondwanaland in the south. The intervening space between these two giant continental blocks (i.e. Angaraland and Gondwana land) was filled up with water. The resultant water body was called Tethys sea.

Geosyncline-It is a long, narrow and shallow water depression characterised by sedimentation and subsidence. It has been propagated by many geologist that all the folded mountains have been originated out of the geosyncline.

Angaraland-When Pangaea was broken into two parts, the northern part became Lauratia or Angaraland. It consisted of present day continents of Europe and Asia(excluding Indian peninsular,it is a part of Gondwana land).
