Electromagnetic induction is a phenomenon in which the production of an emf in a conductor occurs due to the change in magnetic flux linked with the conductor or when there is a relative motion of the conductor across a magnetic field.
The magnitude of the emf is proportional to the rate of change of the flux through the conductor.
