Question

Define molar mass and avogadro constant

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student
Avogadro's constant is defined as the number of particles present in one mole of a substance and is equal to 6.022 X 1023. The number 6.022 × 1023 is an experimentally obtained value and is named after the Italian scientist, Amedeo Avogadro. Thus one mole of carbon contains 6.022 × 1023 atoms of carbon, one mole of H2O contains 6.022 × 1023 molecules of H2O.
