Define spectrum - emission, absorption. also define line spectrum of hydrogen
Emission spectra:-
Emission spectra produced by thin gases molecules having low density and so that they not experience so much collision.
Emission spectrum is the electromagnetic radiation produced when an e- makes transition from high energy level to low energy level.
Absorption spectrum:-
When a light passes through gas and atoms in gas absorbs at characteristic frequency than absorption spectrum is observed.
Since the re-emitted light is unlikely to be emitted in the same dir. Of absorbed photon this gives a line of spectrum without light(dark spectrum)
Line spectrum of H2:-
Emission spectrum of H2 is divided in several spectral series i.e..lymer,balmer.paschan,bracket,pfund,humphrey… and these spectral lines are further known as line spectrum of H2.
