The five different types of road accidents are
(1) Rear impact - when one vehicle hits the rear of another
(2) Side Impact - when one vehicle hits on side of another
(3) Head-on Impact - when two vehicles hit on the front of each other.
(4) Roll Over - when one car flips over after impact
(5) Run Off - Single vehicle involved and it runs off the road.

In each case Newtons' laws govern what happens after the impact. The vehicles involved in the crash have certain momentum before impact and law of conservation of momentum applies. During impact some, if not all of the momentum is transferred from one vehicle to anther which causes dents, vehicular or property damage. In such a case a lot of force is applied in a short amount of time.
