Describe the climate soil, rainfall and labour required for the growth of tea. Name the major tea producing states of India.

Climate- It can grow from subtropical climates to tropical climates, but generally requires a fair amount of humidity and rainfall during the growing season.In general, the moderate temperature within 13°C in winters and 28-32°C in summers is conducive for growth of tea.
Soil-It grows best on well-drained fertile acidic soil on highlands.
Rainfall-
Thus, adequate rainfall during winter and early spring is crucial for high yield.It requires 150-250 cm of precipitation.
Labour-Tea is a plantation agriculture therefore requires high number of workers for sowing,harvesting and picking.
Major tea producing states-Assam,Kerala and Meghalaya
