There are different gases in the atmosphere: Nitrogen 78% , oxygen 21% and 1% other gases.
1. Nitrogen is very important for life. It provides valuable nutrients to biodiversity in the form of Nitrogen cycle. It is an essential component for the building blocks of our body i.e. protein. Moreover without nitrogen, carbon present in the atmosphere would spontaneously ignite and life would not be possible.
2. Oxygen-Oxygen is used in the respiration of humans and other animals.
3. Other gases(Carbon dioxide, Argon, Helium, Methane, Hydrogen etc.)-
Among other gases, Carbon dioxide is most important. It is essential for photosynthesis and also a important greenhouse gas.
Though presently CO2, Methane are considered as harmful to the planet, being the primary cause of global warming. Greenhouse gases play an important role in keeping our planet warm for us and other organisms to live comfortably.
