Aquaculture is the farming of the aquatic plants or animals (no matter marine or fresh water) such as fish, crustaceans, molluscs to be used as food or for commercial purposes.

Pisciculture is a principal form of aquaculture. Pisciculture is the farming of fishes in tanks or enclosures, usually for food. Pisciculture is also known as fish farming .Fish culture can be practiced either separately for different fishes or as composite fish culture system.
