Differenciate between 1)Breathing Rate &Pulse Rate,2)Inhalation & Exhalation,3)Breathing & Cellular Respiration
Difference between breathing rate and pulse rate:
Breathing rate | Pulse rate |
The number of times a person breathe i.e exhales or inhales in 1 minute is known as breathing rate | Pulse rate is number of times the arteries containing blood beats in one minute is known as pulse rate. |
Normal breathing rate 16-20 breathe per minute | Normal pulse rate 72 beats per minute |
Difference between inhalation and exhalation:
Inhalation | Exhalation |
Movement of air inside the lungs is known as inhalation. | Movement of air outside the lung is known as exhalation. |
During inhalation, the diaphragm moves down the ribs move upwards and outwards, thereby increasing the space in the chest cavity | During exhalation, the diaphragm moves to its former position and the ribs move downwards and inwards, thereby reducing the size of the chest cavity |
Difference between breathing and cellular respiration:
Breathing | Cellular respiration |
The process of breathing involves taking in oxygen rich air and giving out carbon dioxide rich air. This entire process occurs because of the actions of various organs of the respiratory system | The process in which food is broken down in the cells to release energy is known as cellular respiration. |
