a) Bitumen- It is a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. It is used instead of coal-tar for making roads. It may be found in natural deposits or may be a refined products
Bituminous- It is relatively soft coal containing bitumen. It is of higher quality than lignite and peat but of poorer quality than anthracite. It is regarded as sedimentary rock.
b) Petroleum- It is natural occurring yellow to black liquid. It is fossil fuel which is formed when large quantities of dead organisms are buried underneath sedimentary rock and subjected to intense heat and pressure.
Petrol- It is a transparent liquid derived from petroleum. It is mixture of hydrocarbons. It is highly flammable and volatile.
