Simple lipids are simply fatty acids or esters of fatty acids and alcohol. For e.g. glycerol

Complex lipids contains other compounds also other than fatty acids and alcohol. For e.g. phospholipids as they also contain phosphorous and a phosphorylated organic compound in them like Lecithin.
