b.the transfer of heat by convection.

Solution

Conduction :

It is a process in which heat is transferred from the hotter end of an object to its cooler end.

In this process, heat is transferred from one point to another by the energy transfer of the material particles to another particle.

There is no actual movement of particle of the medium.

Convection:

The process of transference of heat through a fluid (liquid or gas) is called convection. Water and air are poor conductors of heat, and heat transfer in these mediums takes place by the process of convection.

In this process, heat is transferred from one point to another by the actual movement of the material particles from a region of high temperature to a region of low temperature.
