Solution

There are three main factors that cause changes in size of population are:
  1. Birth rate: The number of live births per 1000 persons in a year is called birth rate. It causes increase in population.
  2. Death rate: The number of deaths per 1000 persons in a year is called death rate. It causes decrease in population.
  3. Migration: Migration means movement of people across political boundaries.
  1. Migration can be internal (within the country) or international (between the countries). Internal migration does not change the size of population but international migration does.
  2. Immigration (entering within a country) and Emigration (going out of a country) are two forms of international migration and plays an important role in changing the size of a population.
