Photoreceptors are the light sensitive cells that are present in the retina of the vertebrates. There are two types of photoreceptors present in the retina of our eye-Rods and Cones.
Rods are sensitive to dim light but cones are meant for colour vision.
Olfactory receptors are meant for the detection of smell.
