Solution

  1. The constitution treats all citizens equally.
  2. Using caste cards as vote banks goes against the very foundations of India’s vibrant democracy.
  3. Using this ideology of caste, an already fractured society is further fragmented and the real issues of development get ignored.
  4. Other than caste there are far more important and urgent issues which need to be addressed like Human development Indicators in which India shamefully lags behind.
  5. Political leaders do not have a right to treat people belonging to a caste as ‘vote banks’.
  6. However during elections political parties follow some policies like hate speeches, persuade people of one caste against the other, etc.
  7. But people vote only for those candidates whom they think the right person to represent their say in the governance.
  8. Even a majority government may lose in the elections if people think that the plans and programs of the party for the welfare of the country are not fulfilled.
