.Caste system is hereditary in India.People belonging to lower castes have been facing severe discrimination. In order to uplift their conditions and bringing them to the mainstream certain reservations have been provided to these category of people.
.Such reservations were in the field of education and employment. This has been known as 'positive discrimination' which was undertaken to rectify the social, economic and political injustices of the past.
.But with the passage of time the reservation system has been severely misused by the people. It has not become successful in fully changing the conditions of the underprivileged people.
.It is now used to uplift the condition of one section of the society at the cost of the other. This is considered as unfair as the eligible ones get discriminated and non-eligible ones because of the reservation system gets privilege.
.Hence, such system should be eliminated and to uplift the backward sections their needs should be identified and financial support must be provided according to their needs. They must be made capable enough to face healthy competition like the others.
