1) The advent of new technology facilitated every worker to produce more, improved the productivity per worker and they resulted in production of durable yarn and threads.
2) However new technology created a distress of unemployment and made workers aggressive.
3) With the launch of Spinning Jenny in the woollen industry, women who depended on hand spinning started damaging the new machines.
4) This clash over the establishment of the jenny lasted for a long time.
5) On the other hand, the implementation of machines reduced demand for labour on micro level but the overall increase in sale due to lower costs increased employment. (E.g. Britain displaced traditional Indian textile industry and production for Lancashire increased.)
6) The introduction of new machines in agriculture led to plantations (e.g. rubber plantations in Malaysia) which increased both revenue and employment.
